Stephen Hsu is the Founder and a Managing Director of Genoa Partners. He oversees the firm’s operations, transactions and strategic development and his principles and core philosophies drive the firm’s operations and direction. Mr. Hsu has two decades of experience in investment banking and private equity having executed various types of corporate finance transactions, including leveraged and management buyouts, domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, company sales and financings as well as initial public and secondary offerings.

Prior to Genoa Partners, Mr. Hsu held positions at prominent investment banks, corporate finance and private family offices in New York and California. He began his career at Lehman Brothers in 2000 and continued his M&A career at UBS Investment Bank. In addition to investment banking experience, Mr. Hsu was instrumental in the acquisition strategies, sales process and in creating and implementing growth plans for portfolio companies during his years in private equity and working sponsored deals.

When Mr. Hsu began his career, he knew wanted to actively work with private, growing businesses. These businesses and their owners embody the spirit of entrepreneurialism and were under represented by traditional investment banking firms. Mr. Hsu recognized the enormous value a well-run and properly executed transaction can bring to a budding enterprise and created Genoa Partners to serve these clients.

Mr. Hsu lives in Orange County, CA. When he is not working, Mr. Hsu enjoys scuba diving, skiing and other outdoor activities. Mr. Hsu donates to local charitable organizations which support and promote causes close to him.
