Gil Barkon is a Senior Advisor to the firm and currently a Partner with Los Angeles based Jobplex Inc., a leader in the recruiting industry offering diversified search services for executives. Mr. Barkon is instrumental in interpreting local employment trends and advising on the firm’s human resource operations and direction.

In addition to his employment and recruiting expertise, Mr. Barkon has over fifteen years of financial advisory and corporate finance experience. Prior to Genoa Partners and Jobplex, Mr. Barkon a Managing Director at Avenue Pacific, a premier executive recruiting agency specializing in investment, financial services and real estate companies with offices in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Connecticut. Earlier in his career, Mr. Barkon was employed by CIM Group, a real estate private equity and development firm focused on urban investments. As a member of the Investment and Development Group, he was responsible for securing financing for all of CIM’s projects while simultaneously sourcing new projects for the company’s $4.0 billion discretionary real estate fund.

Mr. Barkon started his real estate career at George Smith Partners where he placed in excess of $600 million in debt, mezzanine and equity financing. From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Barkon was a corporate attorney specializing in corporate finance and mergers and acquisition, first at Simpson Thacher and Bartlett and later with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. His clients included Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, The Blackstone Group and American Media.
